The Visionopen SmartView 5X is a digital desktop magnifier that combines an optical 5x magnification lens with an integrated 5-megapixel CMOS camera and a 7-inch IPS touchscreen display mounted on the arm above the lens, allowing the magnified image to be viewed on screen at the user’s comfortable viewing distance rather than bending over the desk lens — particularly beneficial for users with neck and back pain who cannot maintain the posture required for conventional desk magnifier use. The camera captures the optical image from the 80mm lens and displays it on the screen at an effective magnification of 8x on the 7-inch display, with pinch-to-zoom touchscreen gestures allowing digital magnification up to 32x. Image freeze — freezing the live camera image with a button press — allows the user to reposition the specimen while studying the frozen image. Captured images can be saved to a microSD card (32GB included) as JPEG or PNG files. The LED ring at the lens provides 6500K illumination with touchscreen brightness control.
