The Visionopen CoinView 5X is designed for coin collectors and numismatists who require consistent, high-quality magnified examination of coin surfaces for grading, authentication, and variety identification without the hand fatigue and inconsistent focal distance of a hand-held loupe. The 95mm achromatic doublet lens delivers 5x magnification — the power most widely used in coin grading for balancing detail resolution with field of view — with full chromatic and spherical aberration correction that reproduces coin surface relief detail, luster characteristics, and die crack patterns accurately. The examination platform is a precision-machined aluminum ring insert in the base that holds standard-size coins in a fixed, centered, horizontal position beneath the lens for repeatable examination geometry — the ring set includes inserts for 17mm, 21mm, 25mm, 28mm, 32mm, and 38mm coin diameters covering all major world coin sizes. The lighting uses 14 LEDs arranged in two rows at different angles to provide both broad illumination and oblique raking light for surface relief examination, selectable independently via two switches.
