The Visionopen ReadMaster 2X is designed specifically for extended reading sessions with small print, providing a 2x magnification over an exceptionally wide 160mm × 110mm rectangular optical glass lens that covers an entire paragraph of a standard book or newspaper in a single field of view — eliminating the constant repositioning required with smaller circular magnifier lenses. The rectangular lens format is optimized for the left-to-right reading motion, allowing the eye to follow a line of text across the full width of the lens without losing the optical quality that degrades at the edges of circular designs. The lens is a precision-ground glass element with anti-reflection coating on both surfaces, reducing the light glare that causes eye fatigue during extended reading. The stand frame positions the lens at a fixed 30-degree angle above the desk surface — the ergonomic angle validated by low-vision research as reducing neck and eye strain during reading compared to flat or vertical lens orientations.
